Oasis Hydronic Heating Repair & Service - Certified Service Center

Your Oasis hydronic heating system isn't something most RV shops can work on. Built by International Thermal Research (ITR) on a patented low-pressure burner platform originally designed for the U.S. military, these systems require specialized training and diagnostic knowledge that general RV technicians don't have. 3R RV Service Center is certified to service all Oasis models - and we've been doing it for over 20 years.

Why Your Oasis Needs Professional Service:

Oasis systems are not standard RV appliances. They integrate a proprietary diesel burner, boiler tank, heat exchanger, distribution module, circulation pumps, zone controls, and electronic diagnostics into a sophisticated heating platform. The two-piece modular design used in many coaches adds complexity that most shops aren't equipped to handle.

When serviced incorrectly - or neglected - the consequences range from no heat on a cold night to expensive component damage that could have been prevented with routine maintenance.

Most shops will tell you one of three things: "We don't work on those," "You need to contact ITR," or they'll guess and replace parts until something works.

We don't guess. We're factory trained on these systems and diagnose them properly the first time.

Service Schedule - What Your Oasis Actually Needs:

Every 4-6 Weeks (Owner Responsibility):

  • Run the diesel burner through a complete cycle to prevent fuel system issues
  • Systems that sit unused develop gummed-up fuel systems and seized components
  • Check coolant level in expansion tank

Annual Service (Professional Service Required):

  • Replace fuel filter
  • Replace fuel nozzle
  • Replace or clean ignitor
  • Replace air filter (compressor)
  • Inspect and clean flame sensor
  • Clean combustion chamber and counter-flow tube of ash and carbon buildup
  • Inspect all fuel line connections
  • Test antifreeze concentration
  • Test circulation pumps
  • Verify zone valve and distribution module operation
  • Check all electrical connections and relay function
  • Test high-limit temperature sensors
  • System operational test

3-Year Service:

  • All annual service items
  • Additional wear components per ITR specifications
  • Full electrical system inspection

5-Year Service:

  • Comprehensive overhaul of ignition, flame monitoring, and fuel delivery components
  • Complete system diagnostic and calibration

As Needed:

  • Antifreeze flush and replacement
  • Winterization before storage
  • De-winterization and system purge in spring

What Happens When Service Is Neglected:

We see the same failures every year from owners who skipped maintenance or had unqualified shops work on their systems:

Carbon and ash buildup - The burner chamber and counter-flow tube develop deposits that cause the heater to lose efficiency. Left unaddressed, this leads to ignition failures and lockouts. What should have been a routine cleaning becomes a major service job.

Clogged fuel nozzles - The nozzle atomizes fuel for proper combustion. When it clogs, you get smoke, diesel smell, and eventual ignition failure. A properly maintained Oasis should produce no visible smoke or odor.

Failed circulation pumps - Systems that sit unused for months develop seized pumps. The summer loop pump is a common failure point. Running the system regularly prevents this.

Degraded antifreeze - Boiler antifreeze loses its protective properties over time. Old antifreeze causes poor heating performance and can damage internal components.

Electrical shorts and relay failures - Wiring issues in the AC element circuits are common, especially connections that weren't properly secured during installation or previous service.

Winterization damage - Cracked heat exchangers and damaged domestic water loops from improper winterization. We see this every spring.

Common Problems We Fix:

Burner won't ignite or stay lit - Usually fuel delivery, ignitor, or flame sensor issues. We diagnose before we replace.

Flame comes on then shuts down after 7 seconds - Typically a flame sensor issue. The system detects flame-out even when flame is present.

No hot water but heat works - Often a failed summer loop pump, stuck bypass valve, or air trapped in the system.

Circulation pump failures - We stock common replacement pumps and can often repair same-day.

AC elements not working - Electrical shorts, failed relays, or loose spade connectors are common causes. We test amperage draw to verify both AC I and AC II are functioning.

System running but not heating coach - Could be distribution module issues, failed zone board, bad thermostats, or pump problems. Requires proper diagnosis.

Smoke or diesel smell from exhaust - Indicates the heater requires service or low DC voltage situation. A properly maintained Oasis produces no visible smoke.

Low voltage faults - The system requires proper 12V DC power. Bad grounds, weak batteries, or voltage drops cause operational issues.

Winterization damage - Cracked heat exchangers and damaged domestic water loops from improper winterization. We see this every spring.

What To Expect:

We diagnose the actual problem before recommending repairs. Oasis systems are sophisticated and expensive - we're not going to sell you a new distribution module when you need a relay or pump. Every repair is inspected by an RVTI Level 4 Master Technician before your rig leaves.

If your system needs parts we don't stock, we'll give you an honest timeline. ITR keeps parts available, but these aren't components you pick up at the local auto store.
